On the new snippet, it sounds like she was taken from around our time: earth tablets vs comp-vids.
Also talk about no belief it vampires and only knowing about them from movies. It will be interesting to find out who abducted, threatened, and maybe put curse on her ... if the curse is actually a curse and not an ability. If she is to become the mighty heart, which I think is possible, then it has to be someone who caught her with skills not yet up there. Or she might be someone similar to Reah. Maybe its Kay, Ashe's wife, who isn't a mighty, but is in the future time. I don't see any description, so can't rule out Kay or the mighty heart yet as this character. It isn't the other females we known like Lissa, Reah, and the usual mates/daughters we know from Lissa's/Reah's world. This snippet likely preceeds the snippet scene with Gavin. The Gavin snippet sounds like it is after her arrest for a crime she didn't commit. Thoughts?

Sounds like good thinking to me Bethan. We know that the Mighty can move through time, that they have to be born into the mortal races if they want to be able to actively help them and they can then become immortal (by being turned vampire for example). I get the feeling that the Mighty Heart had lots of sadness in her early life, if this is indeed she perhaps Connie is taking us along for the ride as she develops into a Mighty. I do wonder what the poor girl's curse is (definitely assuming the new narrator is female).

I think you are right on the ordering of the snippets Jballaustin. This new one seems like the first couple of pages of a new book. At the end the narrator seems well on her way to starvation, and depending on the severity of the crime she is accused of she may have taken other damage as well. If it is the same person I'm wondering why it was Gavin who performed the turn, my impression was that it is something he would not voluntarily do.

I guess she isn't even being paid. If she was, I would expect her to maybe go out to a restaurant and get the veggies she needs. It sounds like she is just living off what she is supplied. Possibly, she is still to afraid to speak up due to the threats she got during her transfer, what ever threats those were. So, starvation possible, but you would think someone would notice before then. However, starvation, arrest, and accident that forces Gavin to turn her is something maybe.

I believe she may be thinking about release the Saa Thalar first book with Kiara, Adam Chessman, and Saxon. That is just a vague memory about the Honor and Hope book.

She did mention on facebook that she is working on re-writing her original twelve (yes twelve) Saa Thalar books. She wrote those when she was still working out her writing. So that is likely the next series after Blood Wars.
