My ramblin' thoughts in no particular order:
* Zaria is, genetically speaking, Lissa and Bre's cousin once removed since she and Griffin are cousins
*Z's powers are much the same as Bre's before she leveled up in "God Wars V", though she is not a vamp.
* Speaking of leveling up, it seems like Z must have done so after Bre brought her back to life again since she took down Liron without breaking a sweat and he was a god. The latter can only mean that at this point she must be a goddess, though what level we can only guess at right now.
*Another leveling up point is that we all know what the Mighty can do with those spheres that Liron gained power from before he died, though apparently Lissa did not benefit from them since they were gone when she searched Avii Castle for them.
*As a selfish reader, I have to wonder about all those books that Cori wrote after she received the drug since she destroyed the self that would have written them and only a select few remember her in the timeline of this book. Personally, I am appalled at the thought of the loss of those books because I cannot imagine losing the memory of having read some of my favorite author's books.
*I really enjoyed the relationship between Zaria and Quin and hope they team up again in the next FO book.
*So far, Quin seems to have the best mates without a clunker among them to mistreat her since even Justice was on his best behavior in this book.
*I wonder if Quin gained anything new after she was brought back to life by Zaria? Well, other than her freedom from Liron and the destruction of that nasty orb that she had in her, that is.
*.Because so much focus has now shifted to the Sirenali, I wonder if we will now meet some of those sea animal shifters that were mentioned during the "God War" books and, if so, what kind of special powers Connie will give them? I also think it would be fascinating to see what kind of sea gods Connie might create and what kind of underwater world would go with them. Mermaids and Mermen? Creatures from the Black Lagoon? Poseidon? Things we haven't heard of yet?

the whole "don't interfere with the Coup" bothers me.

Illya did what essentially he was supposed to do by warning the twin (hence the timeline (in the future) was unchanged), yet Bree somehow expected that he would not do it and change the timeline (not sure what possessed him to warn them. that seemed out of character) Did bree want him to change the timeline?

Then Zaria did ( or maybe didn't change the time line by offering advice to Wellend and Warlend) who stayed in hiding for 20000 years while Wylend ruled. Why didn't the throne kill Wylend, he wasn't the right full king?

I probably need to go back and re-read the book again, I may have missed some puzzle pieces to this one.

Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.

The only thing they were told that they could not interfere with was the Coup itself, they were never forbidden from interfering before or after the Coup.

The Coup itself did not change only what others thought happened was not what actually happened. Look at all the precedents for this happening, everyone in the Saa Thalarr that apparently “dies” when they get recruited, Lissa “dying” when she goes forward in time, etc..

Being told to not change one event leaves one a lot of latitude to work with.

Reading is a gift to yourself that you can share with everyone.

Here, maybe this will help you to understand

Together, should the twins be allowed to rule Karathia, they would destroy what they could and then watch Karathia's citizens war among themselves— as long as they didn't make an attempt to take the throne. I had nothing but contempt for any of them, but still, I watched them from a distance. Perhaps not to keep them safe— I was beginning to see a little of what Zaria could easily understand. These could not be allowed anywhere near the throne. I think I decided then that if Zaria chose to go against our instructions not to interfere, I would stand with her. Some things were worth giving your life. This was one of them. Glad to hear it, a voice sounded in my head. It wasn't Zaria's— it was male. I swallowed with difficulty and began to form my own plan.

The Heir's ring hadn't come to him. Did that precipitate this act of violence, or had it been fermenting in Wylend's mind for longer than that? Had Zaria seen it, and not told me? That's when her mental voice sounded in my head. Ilya, I love you, she sent. More than you will ever know. Could that be a lie as well? I no longer knew what to think.

The bottom line is that when push came to shove he did not trust his own instincts and, more importantly, the voice in his head and Zaria, which is the EXACT same thing that happened in his previous life with Cori. This time it lead to more than a 20,000 year killing spree for the twins, while in his past life it lead to his obsession and would have lead to the destruction of Earth had Cori not separated the particles of her past and, then present, selves.

Then too, even after Bree gave him the dressing down he deserved in the pub he did not even bother to try to hunt the twins down over the next 20,000 years but instead randomly wandered around all that time? Me thinks he had every reason to sneak out the back door when Zaria was done interrogating Wylend and the twins.

After a re-read, I picked up on a few more things that I missed the first time and some things that sank in more.

Quin was remade, with out the controlling device that Liron had made here with, but also without her wings. :( Unless I missed where they were re-attached... She needs her wings, not blue or black, but here original color(s).

Illya... oh, Illya how you really messed up again and yet again when given 20,000 years to fix your error. I will be interested to see if he can get his shit together and be worthy of Corrine's/ Zaria's love. Illya's choice in warning the twins, still doesn't sit well with me and seems out of character. He had so many options if he didn't want to see them murdered by Wylend. Also, if the Mighty wanted the future to be changed by Illya, why not just command him to do what they wanted...

Wylend... wow.

I am guessing that Warlend and Wellend were forbidden from interfering with Wylend's rule so that the time line wouldn't be altered. I'm guessing that the small not about Wellend allowing his brother to rule in his stead was what allowed Wylend to sit on the throne without dying and then later Ry could sit when Wylend abdicated.

Timelines/time travel/the RD drug.... I really hate when I think about these things. the whole Zaria being Welland's Daughter and the ring coming to her 20000 years in a past that she didn't exist until Bree put her there. If Bree hadn't done this where would the Ring have gone?

Basically, how can the RD drug's usage affect the past? isn't it supposed to evolve the recipient to a future self? Or I'm I not understanding the drug's effects. if this is how it works it should only have affected the future. Wylend may sure that Zaria wouldn't be born (20000 years in the past), so this should have never been a future life to be evolved to.

Another scary thought.... exactly what did Cayetes evolve into? Quin should know. what ever it is must have mind speech and sent for V'ili, how else would V'ili have known to show up at that exact moment? so many questions.

I know I am reaching, trying to apply a little logic and some accepted time travel theories here.

Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.
