Hmmmm, I was mostly joking/exaggerating but, seriously?

Even Gavin from the future when he got those memories was at a complete loss as to his actions. Gavin is a control freak, even without the mind cloud involved. He is a self professed autocrat. There is no way he would have just shrugged off her running around without supervision or taken all those surprises very well, much less keep them hidden from Wlodek.

Also I was talking about more than Gavin, the whole bunch of them. Lissa didn't kill anyone either yet look how she was treated, and all in spite of Gavin actually being in love with her. Bree didn't even get a vote, Wlodek just shrugged off her status of rogue.

And yes, even if the mind simply gave him a little more empathy/understanding that is still a change that drastically modified his personality.

I have to agree with David. Gavin is completely unreasonable. For someone so old it never fails to astound me at how completely emotionally stunted these Vampires can be. He gives the appearance of wanting to be in control all of the time and expecting others to bend to his will. I hate to say it but aside from Bill, and maybe a few of the wolves there doesn't seem to be any normal and likeable men in any of the women's lives. They are either unbearably chauvinistic and bossy or some sort of weird and freakish sickly nice that treat women like children, for me at least that creeps me out even more than the nasty behaviour.

@claire this is why I don't find any of this creepy. Do you like being pampered and protected by your loved one? I speak from experience and I love it. It doesn't mean it can't be suffocating just means there Must be more communication! Also relise Reah,Lissa & Bree were brought into horrorific lives that most of us might not even survive! Something's might might work for some and don't work for other. Men are not mind readers.
Another thing that comes to mind is what Frank said when he was human. When a human is changed to a vampire they tend to go to extremes. Now through into the mix other spiecis, now we have a mess with everyone trying to make sure the female is happy. But what they have failed in this is to include the females in this discussion. <snicker> just, doesn't work without there input!

Per the book, Pedril is in love with Lissa, Kifirin has banished him because of Reah's request otherwise Kifirin would have separated Pedril's particles. Obviously Kifirin thinks Pedril would not be a fit mate ... lol.

@perualpaca - Welcome back, I missed you. Gavin ... I have mixed feelings about, I honestly think I would like his character if he lost 90% of his anger ... as is he lets his anger rule him to the point of me rooting for the people going after him. If it was not for the fact that losing Gavin would do major harm to Lissa I would probably root for his killer(s).

On a different note ... Everyone talking about how the characters are portrayed, remember that any author needs to surround their lead characters with the type of people that will, in the end, help that character grow ... even if it is painful for the character and / or readers. Look at all the main characters throughout Connie's series ... each has faced trials, abuse, death, etc. in order to grow in depth and power ... any one of the characters could not have faced their destiny without that growth.

Through great adversity / trials come great triumphs. - Unknown

I wonder what it is with Corent... the possibility that he's the mighty mind was already mentioned but I just reread Blood Revolution and I'm actually quite convinced now that it's not Corent because at the end of the 13th chapter (I think) the Mighty Mind appears while she's talking to him. But wether he is or is not one of the three something changed with him. Lissa also mentioned it when she saw him folding space and Breanne can't read him anymore. But why could that be?

Yeah, comes down to why people are blocked I think. He could already fold though when she was able to read him. So that's actually 2 events to track down.
