:) Am I alone in thinking it wrong Reah was not given time to discover how to be a teenager (?) or even a young adult. Reah first had a very abusive childhood (Ha),consripted into the military, then shot off to another planet where she is afraid for her life, finds out she is a High Demon and mates with Auri. Reah is then snatched up by dear old Norian and sent out into danger which leaves her wounded and then claimed by Tory. Barely recovered from all this ..... (fill in whatever word suits the problem) she is sent undercover, where she ends up married to Mr. Slimeball Teeg. She is only 19!! Someone (Lissa maybe)needs to stand up and tell everyone to back off. Norian thinks the end justifies the means. Sorry for being so long winded here.

Yes, that would be nice.

In the days BC (before Connie) the greatest author of fantasy was John Bunyan. My favourite is 'The Holy War'. You can find it free on Gutenberg.

Reah is 19 and immortal, even if she ends up serving her last five years she will be 24 when she gets out. Considering her background and her mates current rage at Norian and Lendill I can see them kidnapping her for some serious R&R mixed in with a side of spoiling ... maybe Kifirin can restore her hair ...

As for time to be a teenager, I think Edan killed that long before she became a teenager. By the time she grows out of the fear beaten into her a teenagers antics would seem very childish to her.

On the other hand, should Reah desire to cut lose and ditch anything resembling responsibility ... by all means she should be allowed to.

Had not thought of it this way. You are so right. An old saying I have heard would apply perfectly to Reah. "You can never miss what you have never had"

Yet Reah's best friend is Gavril and she spends her down time relaxing with him if given the chance. Perhaps deep down she knows that she has missed out on something and is trying to experience some of it, and escape from the pressures of having grown up too early.

A little off topic but, I think Reah sees Gavril as her best friend and currently as the brother she wished she had while growing up. Since there are no preconceptions or baggage on their relationship I can easily see this growing over time, Gavril provides Reah a very important emotional and mental bedrock ... someone she can trust implicitly, is always willing to listen to and believe her, and provides a sounding board whenever she needs him (the reverse seems to hold true as well). The relationship that is developing between Reah and Gavril is one that not only does not need a M'Fiyah but could be hurt if one develops.
