Just think Gavin really crossed the line of no return in Blood Wager the way he treated Lissa. That was too cold! However, think you are right concerning Lissa giving one of her mates up willingly. Won't happen! She was devastated when she had to let Gabron go.
Had forgot what a trouble magnet Lissa is at times. So Grey House actually is the best place for Nissa at this stage of her life.
A side comment here: Do you realize we are spending time imagining what fictional people might say or do. (LOL) I hope we don't all end up becoming similiar to Trekkies one day. (LOL)
I love Gavin! He is my favourite! For the first time in his long life he met someone he fell in love with at first sight. But he also had orders to observe Lissa, report on her, and eventually kill her if the Council told him to. I think he handled the situation as best he could, and his love, honesty and courage showed through. When Lissa believed she had offended him, and went off with Tony, he had to control his emotions, allow that, and still protect her. He is Lissa's first mate in time, and deserves respect and affection. And I am delighted that Lissa's first natural baby was his.
In the days BC (before Connie) the greatest author of fantasy was John Bunyan. My favourite is 'The Holy War'. You can find it free on Gutenberg.
Yeah all of that is valid but uh he needs a lot of work in the taking care of his woman department cause there he sure is lacking I know he is an old vampire but hey u do not have to stay stuck in the past he never grew out of his rigid ways and it takes from his overall good husbandness
I newer forgave Gavin for how he trasported Lissa to the council the first time (and he knew she wanted a shift death).
If that wasn't enought I would newer forgive him for letting the council beat and humiliate her.
But in some ways Gavin is still a child. He is a killer, and newer had someone to care like a child, so that's all his world.
And in a worse way I hate Merril. He shoud have cared and protect her. He chose to punish her for his attraction. And as Lissa said he had it all, even now.
Some times I dream of her children to find her diares and disseminate justice (originally I was oping in her mates, but seems they are all followers)
