I think that you are right that Tory's Thifilathi didn't recognize the new wife as HIS, but I do think that he could feel the pain of betrayal from her conniving.
I think the passed out is Reah, which worries me some for her, because she's always passing out for some reason or another, but the Thifilathi's reaction to me reads like he feels as if Reah was given back to him. Maybe the Thifilathi can sort out Tory's mistakes.
Now, if only someone would turn Wylend into the goat that he's always threatening.
Tory and his Thifilathi seem to be two separate characters, unlike Reah and hers. Tory has indeed messed things up but I think his Thifilathi desperately wanted to mend things with Reah. That was at the end of the last book anyway. But this snippet, who knows?
