So....weird thought I had about high demons

This is probably a totally off the wall theory that's not even accurate at all, but I found myself halfway through the book a litle after Lexsi started showing signs of having a Thifalti (yes i spelled it wrong, i'm too lazy to go look it up right now) and I had a thought...

What if ALL female high demons CAN change, but unlike the men they require some sort of trigger to initiate it? I mean, Reah didn't really change until she was in a dangerous situation (much like Lexsi). I don't have enough history to know when her Aunt first changed. Because if you think about it...that would make total sense then on why the male high demons went the crazy controlling way they did.

1st - eliminate the need for the women to change (thereby effectively removing half of their potential strength). Then, now that they're relying on the men to control them you slowly start building up your control by implanting them with the devices that kept them from skipping, forcing them to be more and more reliant on the men.

Anyway....super weird thought I was having while thinking about the book and driving. It'd also explain why her sisters haven't changed, they've never been imperiled enough to trigger the need.

I already posted that in the other thread, I do agree with the possibility.

More than that I think it requires danger for the males as well. Females are the only ones coddled in the race. They aren't allowed to do anything dangerous, so it never comes out.

In the blood series there were some questions about if Tory would have the ability, it didn't come out until his mother (Lissa) was threatened in that clothing store by the Ra'ak when she was pregnant and couldn't use power.

Anyway, long story short... Yes. I think if they didn't bubble wrap their females they could all change.

I do not think danger is neccesary for males to change the first time.
After all they start changing during puberty.
I think males change naturally because of testosteron.
Females lack this and need the danger / anger to change.
Tory is the exception to this, but he is only half high demon.
But I agree that all females have the potential for changing.
Unfornately they are all brainwashed.

"Someone once said a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters could reproduce the works of Shakespeare.
The internet has proven that this is not true."

It's been said a few times throughout the books that it takes a high stress situation for the Thifilathi to manifest in the females. Also, in Tory's case, the question was, at least in part, because his mom was NOT high demon, and so he may not be able to change at all. It was mentioned briefly in Reah's books that her daughters may be able to, but would be so sheltered and protected that the right conditions would never present. As far as I can remember, it has never been mentioned how it works for a full blooded young male high demon.

Hmmm. I do not know about the rest of you but I think that the decision that was made to allow the feelings of Reah's six oldest daughters to be remain muted for their mother after it was discovered that Kilfirin had done the muting was just another way to keep the girls under control. I would also like to add that one of my fondest dreams is that Lexi finds out about what happened to her sisters and mother and rectifies the situation because I want to see seven cans of whoop ass unleashed on the High Demon males (AND Glenda the baby stealing heifer) for what was done to them.

We have not had any word on what happened between Reah and her daughters since the God Wars, remember Kifirin was remade by Bree so there may be a change in status to Reah's daughters. Also we do know that Hank has kept control of Kifirin (the planet) so I recommend watching the series as it develops to see if some, or all, of these questions are answered.

Reading is a gift to yourself that you can share with everyone.
